The estate

CHARM AND CHARACTER OF BORDER LAND

Where the Umbrian pure nature amazes, Vitalonga is a Maravalle Family property since 1953, the extension is 90 hectares, of which around 20 with grapevines, besides 1.500 plants of biological olive tree and 50 of oaks wood.

In the heart of Italy,  halfway between Rome and Florence,  the Vitalonga vineyard rises on

the crest of a panoramic hill. One’s gaze passes above the vineyards and, in a continuous succession of perspectives, meets the nearby Castello della Sala, Orvieto, the mounts Cimini, Cetona and Amiata beyond the valley.

The path of roses at the end of the vine rows marks the way through the estate, past the guesthouse and the vegetable garden and leads to the cellar. Here, you can taste our wines and enjoy a superb meal in our charming restaurant Locanda Vitalonga.

Cellar

The new winery, which maintains its traditional rural architecture, was studied, planned and built to become a modern and functional facility where tradition and contamporary technologies meet.

Guesthouse

Situated on the highest of the estate’s hill, it is immersed in the characteristic wood of holm oak and is surrounded by vineyards. The antique guesthouse has been renovated to host a limited number of guests (up to 12 people).

From the poolside, you can enjoy the beautiful view that extends over vineyards, from the Sala Castle across Paglia river’s vast valley to the tufa-rock cliffs of Orvieto.

Restaurant

The restaurant distinguishes itself for its excellent traditional cuisine and it can accomodate up to 60 persons sitting inside and  60 sitting outside under the portico turned to the sunset; the panoramic winery square, near the restaurant, is an ideal place for great parties.
